While dark chocolate contains a unique mix of phytonutrients and antioxidants which enhance health, the same cannot be said for its poorer cousin, white chocolate. Although white chocolate often does contain (but not always) cocoa butter, the vegetable fat extracted from whole cacao bean, it lacks cocoa solids, cocoa paste, cocoa liquor, or cocoa powder. As a result, this candy is calorie-rich but nutrient poor as it lacks any of the wellness promoting properties that are found in dark chocolate as these have been removed from the final product.
Life is too short for ‘fake’ chocolate. This is why I strongly recommend you avoid white chocolate as there are so many other superior options available. The science is clear: dark chocolate is the best option for people who love chocolate.
