Raw meat is not part of the whole food, plant-based Raw Diet plan. Although there are a variety of reasons (ethical, ecological, and nutritional) to avoid raw meat, the best one is easily safety. Eating a meal should not put your health (or your life) at risk.
Raw meat contains parasites and pathogens that can easily infect a human being. Bacteria such as E. coli and Salmonella live their entire lives inside the bodies of animals and are both are common causes of food-borne illnesses in people. Also, parasites like tapeworms and trichinella worms are found living inside the flesh of most domestic and wild animals. These are worms that you do not want taking up resident within your own body!
Be smart. If you do choose to eat some beef, pork, lamb, chicken, duck, or wild game, make sure cook it properly. Avoid raw meat at all costs.
