Here at Nutrition Coach, we agree with Dr. David Katz of Yale University’s Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center. The Debate is Over: We Know ‘What’ a healthy diet really is!
Clinical trials and observational studies all suggest that a whole food, plant-based diet is the best choice for optimal human health over the lifespan and to maintaining one’s ideal weight.
When examining the weight of evidence from case-control studies, cohort studies, randomized clinical trials, and systemic reviews, this is the obvious general conclusion.
While a smart diet might include some grass fed beef, free range chickens and eggs, and small wild caught fish, the core components should be leafy greens, tubers, vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, lentils, nuts, and seeds.
